Many students use Toronto Pearson International Airport for air travel. You’ll find information about how to get to and from the airport on the Toronto Pearson International Airport website.

It’s easy to go from place to place in the city using Toronto’s public transit system, known as the TTC. The TTC network includes buses, subway trains and streetcars. You can find directions to the University of Toronto St. George campus. The Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) building, where the English Language Program is located, has direct underground access to and from the St. George subway station.

Some students enjoy travelling around the city on bicycles. At the University of Toronto, Bikechain lends bicycles to students and offers a for-fee repair service.

TTC Fares and Metropasses

On the TTC, most trips within the City of Toronto cost a single fare. Your single fare also includes a free “transfer” ticket if your one-way trip combines a ride on the subway with a ride on a bus or streetcar, for example. Travel in the city is less expensive if you purchase multiple TTC tokens (minimum of three tokens), a Presto card or a weekly or monthly Metropass instead of paying cash each time.

How much does the TTC cost?

  • Cash Fare: $3.25 (one trip)
  • Tokens & Presto: $3.00 (one trip – note: minimum 3 tokens for $9.00)
  • Monthly Metropass: $146.25 (Unlimited travel. Purchase at the start of each month.)
  • Weekly Metropass: $43.75 (Unlimited travel. Valid Monday through Sunday.)
  • Day Metropass: $12.50 (Unlimited travel.)

The TTC website has maps and more details about fares and routes.
