Volunteer Experience Program

Many English Language Program students become volunteers who make a difference in the Toronto community. The Volunteer Experience Program is an excellent way to meet new people, practice your English, gain valuable experience and support our city’s charities and not-for-profit organizations.

Recently, volunteers have helped at marathon races, homeless shelters and facilities for senior citizens. They’ve also sold charity lottery tickets at professional sports events, such as NBA and NHL games. Some volunteers have even had the chance to serve as ushers at the Toronto International Film Festival showing movie stars to their seats.

After completing 20 hours of volunteer service, you will be awarded a certificate that can help with future university, internship and job applications. Long-term volunteering may also be available.
