This Week @ELP (March 6 – 12)

This week at ELP we welcome a new group of students joining us for English PLUS. So, we have planned a lot of activities that can help you get familiar with the city and meet some of your fellow students, including campus tours, a visit to the CN Tower and even a maple syrup farm!

Tuesday:

Campus Tours

Get acquainted with your new campus.

Karaoke Night (Bring Spending Money)

Tonight is the night to relax and sing your heart out!

Wednesday:

Volunteer Meeting

Art Gallery of Ontario (Free)

Learn more about art and Toronto at the Art Gallery of Ontario (“The Artful City”).

You can download the AGO Mobile App on your smartphones for audio guides of exhibitions like Monet, Van Gogh & More. Don’t forget to bring your headphones!

Thursday:

Toronto Light Festival (Free)

Join us at the Distillery District for a fun night out at Toronto’s new Toronto Light Fest! Experience “light art” among Toronto’s heritage buildings like never before.

Meet in the ELP Lobby at 5:15pm to join.

 

Friday:

CN Tower ($36)
Get a view of the city from Toronto’s iconic tower, and if you’re brave enough, look down at the Rogers Centre and Ripley’s Aquarium through the Glass Floor.

Tickets are $36 and are sold in the ELP Office every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 12:30pm-1:30pm.

Saturday:

St. Lawrence Market (Free)

Experience a Farmer’s Market right in the downtown core this weekend. Find the freshest local produce and chow down on some Canadian bacon sandwiches!

Meet in the ELP Lobby at 11:00am to join.

 

Sunday:

Maple Syrup Farm Tour ($40)

One of the many things Canada is known for is its maple syrup. Don’t miss out on a chance to learn more about how maple syrup is made at one of our local maple farms, and discover the taste of real maple syrup!

Tickets are $40 and are sold in the ELP Office every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 12:30pm-1:30pm.

Meet outside York Mills Station at 9:45am to join.
